- Meteor: The visible, burning fireball streaking across the sky as a meteoroid or asteroid burns in the atmosphere.
- Meteorite: The remnant of the meteoroid or asteroid that strikes the surface of the earth.
- Meteoroid: An object with a general size between a grain of sand and 50 meters (half a footbal field) between he surface of the earth and interplanetary space.
